Why does the refrigerator cools things?
This useful appliance has some very thin tubes which are filled with a refrigerant gas (that cools), so all you store inside of it preserves in better conditions.
Why are lighthouses useful?
Lighthouses are built on the coast to guide sailors at night. They are identified according to their color and the intermittence of their lights. Have you been to El Morro lighthouse in Havana?
Why it is called marathon?
In order to announce the Greek victory over the Persians in the battle in Marathon (490 B.C), the messenger ran 42 km without stopping until he arrived to Athens. He died after giving the news. The marathon is the most difficult contest or run in contemporary athletics. It covers 42,195 km.
Why do we have a skeleton?
Vertebrates have articulated bones (skeleton) which gives shape and protects our bodies. The human skeleton has long bones (femur), short ones (phalanges), flat ones (omoplate).
